Sorgent.e realize 112 MW hydroelectric power plant in Peru

Contracts for the construction of the Central Quitaracsa signed in front of President Alan Garcia Perez

Padova, February 8, 2011 - The Padua Sorgent.e, including the most important Italian groups energy sector with over 30 plants under construction worldwide, is increasingly leading to South America and particularly in Peru where a 'company of the group (ETS Energy) is was chosen by a global player as GdF Suez (with its subsidiary Enersur) to build and install a hydroelectric plant of 112 MW.
The ceremony of signing of contracts for the construction of the central Quitaracsa in the region of Ancash, was held in recent days in the Government Palace in Lima, in front of President Alan Garcia Perez, who wanted to emphasize that the strategic value of this infrastructure for the country of the Andes. A plant important linking and also convert to other 2 combined cycle power plants (one in Chilca Canete and Cold Reserve Generation Plant ILO) creating a real "energy hub" that is expected to total investment approximately $ 800 million.

Quitaracsa's hydroelectric power, an admirable example of environmentally friendly energy use, provides more than 5 km of pipes, will produce 700 GWh of electricity and will be completed in 43 months to become operational in October 2014. Will allow Peru to begin to exploit its vast resources of "blue gold", thus reducing the need for foreign gas and energy costs for the population and businesses.

ETS Energy has a contract "turnkey" for the fulfillment of all the so-called balance of plant of the plant (all electrical works for high-voltage, medium voltage, low voltage, telecommunication, automation, remote control, plants of every kind ..), that will build and operate an artery in the brain of formidable energy, through a consortium with Norwegian Rainpower that will provide the turbine and generator while the Peruvian Constructora JME carry out civil works.

This order represents only one step of a broader program of investments and achievements that Sorgent.e (the reference group of ETS Energy) is doing in Latin America, so in order to contribute to the exploitation of the immense hydroelectric potential of the eco- continent.

In Chile for example, the Padua group has already built five hydroelectric power plants of total capacity of 100 MW with an investment of about $ 250 million, and has 3 more under construction. Also in Chile, Sorgent.e built and manages (owns it) a power plant - the Hidromaule "Lircay" - which has become a model for the entire industry: it was financed by 'International Finance Corporation of the World Bank recognized that project as one of the most important at international level, in terms of social and ecological impact. The same power plant, built with local partners, has also been included (the only hydroelectric plant) from KPMG in The Infrastructure 100 ", which collects the the 100 works great most interesting in the world.

In Central America, however, Sorgent.e is pursuing the construction of two hydroelectric power plants of 50 MW each for about $ 250 million investment.

"The contract for the construction of hydroelectric Quitaracsa - says Mario Arquilla, president of ETS Energy - is definitely a good result of business for our company but is primarily a further international recognition for our expertise in the field of renewable energy. Countries like Peru have virgin reservoirs of water to meet their own energy needs of tens of millions of people. We want to be a partner reliable way to create growth and stability in the country. "

"We have companies in different continents - said Daniel Boscolo Meneguolo, President of Sorgent.e - each with its own autonomy and operates its own specificity, according to a high social and economic value, in virtuous synergy with local communities and all realities involved. Thanks also to the success of ETS Energy, Sorgent.e is now a world leader in hydroelectricity with fifty projects in the portfolio - of which twenty were in operation - for a consolidated general power of 300 MW.

Sorgent.e - which owns more than 30 companies, all active in the renewable energy sector - is a recognized global player in the energy sector and one of the cases the most original Italian green economy. These
its significant numbers: 28 plants under construction in 9 countries, 5 others held only in South America, 850 MW of renewable energy produced and already in operation and another 800 MW under development, total investments of more than 400 million Euro .
the basis of excellence and the international credibility that the group Sorgent.e has gained in over 15 years of business, we have the professional skills of entrepreneurs, managers trained at the University of Padua, who met in 1995, after significant experiences abroad, to give life to ETS (Electrical Systems Technician), today ETS Energy, the operating arm of the group, specialized in the construction and operation of plants. First, therefore, a story of men, of people - always guided by Ing. Daniel Boscolo - who share an entrepreneurial venture aims to produce electricity from renewable energy sources, preserving the environment and creating new job opportunities and business.
Sorgent.e is a world leader in the design, construction and operation of hydroelectric plants in Italy and abroad. Also boasts a dozen major investments in solar farms with an installed capacity of 100 MW and un portafoglio di parchi nel settore eolico per 400 MW.
